Ching Yan Chow
UX Research and Design Operations
My career started from Graphic Design in a car enthusiast startup company, honing my craft to become a UX Product Designer for the largest car dealership technology provider in the world.
As a result of my experiences, my approach to Product Design and Development is collaborative, pragmatic, transparent and strategically planned out for result driven business outcomes. While innovation is a vital, it requires a solid foundation for it to launch from. Recognizing and prioritizing deliverables for business goals needs to come with foresight and insight while maintaining agility for adaptability.
This is a photo from a recent trip to a restaurant in Richmond, Canada that had a service robot on display. We are still in a gray area of innovation where a restaurant can have a fully autonomous wait staff, but it was still a great experience to watch as we reach for some envisioned future state.
There is so much potential in food service and automation and finding that happy medium for diners to enjoy. I can only imagine what an AI Iron Chef could create in a cooking competition with a human competitor.

The Design Operations role for the UX Team meant I was covering the three pillars of administration and support for a team of 70 people. People, Practice and Process required me to define career tracks, implement tool training and outline Program Increment planning and tracking to support the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).
My fallback skill set centered on creating a framework for integrated and dynamic reporting pages and living documents specific to Project Management. I would train and scale this practice to the PMO.
As a UX Product Designer for a B2B SaaS application that serviced 18,000 North American and Australian car dealerships, my primary skill sets circled on prototyping, usability testing and coordinating Developer hand off.
Creating product solutions for a dynamic industry meant every project required new approaches and collaborations with teammates.
As a Graphic Designer for a gaming company, I created seasonal promotions and advertising campaigns for their product lineup of 10,000 games. In addition to advertising design, I designed company branded clothing.
Creating ad campaigns for video games was a matter of framing amazing art work into a browser with large call-to-action buttons for subscription or purchase.
